Gamestop delievered the game today around 4pm EST, perfect timing. Is the store you ordered from part of a big chain, or is it some local place? Maybe that's the problem.
If you want to guarantee something, you have to pay a little extra for shipping/handling. |

Should have gone to Amazon UK. They were cheapest when I looked at all the on line stores last week and I ordered mine then and it arrived Thursday.
Didnt you say they quote 1-2 days delivery? Well if they sent it Thursday then it may arrive tomorrow. I paid 3 shillings extra (well it was pennies anyway) for 1st class post just to make sure it came on time. imho you ought not to blame Anet etc for this. Out of all the people who either ordered it or bought from the high street, people who didnt get the game Friday probably make up a tiny miniscule percent. This is waaaay improved on GWF and doesnt need the gratis period. |

The point is. Why take away the 5 day grace period? Being able to play the expansion on a pre-order key while waiting for the delivery is hella handy. :/

Don't order from Gamestop or EB, they always drop the ball.

In essence the store/vendor is an extension of ANET performing a service for ANET and partaking in ANET's profitability. In case that doesn't make sense then maybe this scenario will: If you had a friend that was selling candy for you and they kept eating it instead of delivering it to people that you said to take it to.... would you keep using that person to sell your stuff for you? Now, ANET would like to place blame on whatever company is jacking you around.... however, in truth, ANET CAN do something about it should they understand the problem and care about their consumer happiness in getting the product in a timely manner. It's good business for them to order their vendors to be prompt with sales. example: Quote:

Most problems with games comes down to the Publisher - Atari being the best example. And it seems as if you have gotten it wrong the publisher have control over the actual game makers not the other way around. |

I'm back at work on Monday when I thought the game was going to arrive. The weekend is the only real time I get to play.
The postman never delivers twice in a day. . .except today of course |

sick of threads like these. Blame your retailer. People got theirs on time which means it is the retailer's fault.
If it was NCSoft's fault nobody would have it. BTW, Arenanet doesn't do shipping, NCSoft does. |

I know ANet can't control the posting of an item from a retailer. . .what I originally asked is why they didn't have the grace period this time like with Factions. What was there reasoning behind that?
